Un Violador en tu Camino

Tasked with juxtaposing historical art with something modern, I thought to combine paintings of Judith and Holofernes with the feminist anthem, Un Violador en tu Camino written by feminist collective, Las Tesis. Un Violador en tu Camino describes the violence women face, while Judith and Holofernes is a biblical myth about a woman who saves her town by killing a military figure, Holoferenes. The strength and violence of Judith converts the helplessness described in Un Violador en tu Camino into what feels like a threat, perhaps one that demands change. 

The book is hand bound, the colored sheets are handmade paper, and I inked all of the illustrations by hand.
